The Tidewater Drillers are led by experienced coaches who are committed to player development, accountability, and representing the program with integrity. Our coaches serve as mentors, helping athletes grow both on and off the field.


Brock Gagliardi

BROCK GAGLIARDI IS ENTERING HIS SECOND YEAR AS A COACH WITH THE TIDEWATER DRILLERS, RECENTLY ASSUMING THE ROLE OF DIRECTOR OF PLAYER DEVELOPMENT. HE JOINED THE DRILLERS AFTER PLAYING AT OLD DOMINION UNIVERSITY (ODU) AND TACOMA COMMUNITY COLLEGE, WHERE HE WAS A CATCHER FOR THE TITANS IN 2018 AND 2019.

GAGLIARDI TRANSFERRED TO ODU, BECOMING A KEY PLAYER AND EARNING FIRST-TEAM ALL-CONFERENCE USA HONORS HIS SENIOR YEAR. NOTABLE MOMENTS INCLUDE HITTING A WALK-OFF HOME RUN ON SENIOR DAY AND A GRAND SLAM IN THE CONFERENCE USA TOURNAMENT. HE WAS RATED #12 CATCHER IN ALL OF COLLEGE BASEBALL BY D1 BASEBALL IN 2022.

Kurt Sinnen

Kurt has been a Tidewater Driller for his entire life.

He achieved many honors, including being a two-time All-Beach District catcher and utility player in high school. This showed his skill and versatility on the field. Kurt received the All-Tidewater Utility Player Award once, which highlighted his consistent performance in different positions. He was named Team MVP twice at Kellam High School, demonstrating his leadership and contributions to the team.

Kurt started his college baseball career strong by hitting .304 during his freshman year. He earned the Cal Ripken Collegiate Summer League All-Star Game MVP Award for his excellent performance. He was also recognized as the Coastal Plains League All-Star Game MVP, which helped build his reputation in college baseball. Additionally, he made the Second Team All-Coastal Plains League, acknowledging his important contributions throughout the season. In his senior year, he received the Harry Postove Scouting Award, which reflected his exceptional sportsmanship to his teammates.

Kurt was the head coach of the Tidewater Drillers from 2018 to 2021, where he helped young athletes develop and promoted a competitive environment. He also served as an assistant coach at Kellam High School for six years, mentoring and coaching aspiring players.


Sam Sinnen

Lifetime Driller (2003-2013): Renowned for exceptional performance and dedication in the drilling industry over a decade-long career.

Old Dominion University (ODU) (2013-2017): Pursued and completed a degree while contributing to the university’s athletics as a distinguished team member.

Two-Time All-Conference USA Honors Recognized for outstanding athletic achievements and consistent performance, earning All-Conference USA honors during two separate seasons.


Kyle Edwards

Edwards begins his first year as a coach in the organization. Kyle grew up playing for the Tidewater Drillers under Coach Kurt Sinnen, as well as at Cox High School. Following high school, he played four seasons at Old Dominion University.

During college, Kyle finished with a .268 batting average, 16 home runs, and 61 stolen bases. In his final season (2025), he batted .270 with 30 RBIs and stole 26 bases out of 27 attempts. He led the team in batting average with .341 in 2023. In HIS 2024 season, he started all 57 games at shortstop, leading in doubles (19) and at-bats (233). He ranked second in runs (45) and walks (24), and third in stolen bases (16).

Edwards also played for the Peninsula Pilots, hitting .285 in 33 games and earning All-Star honors. He stole 41 bases out of 42 attempts while with the team. Additionally, he played for the Strasburg Express and the Charlottesville Tom Sox. His summer league stats include a .257 average, 22 doubles, 9 home runs, and 84 stolen bases out of 88 attempts. After college, he signed with the Washington Wild Things.

Kyle is the son of Dawn Jackson and has three siblings. He majored in Leadership and aspires to be a physical education teacher and strength coach. His mother taught him the values of discipline and hard work, and he credits his coaches from the Tidewater Drillers as mentors.


St. Clair Jones

St. Clair Jones will begin his second tenure with the Tidewater Drillers this fall, having previously served as an assistant coach in the summer of 2001.

A standout at Great Bridge High School, he played college baseball at Virginia Wesleyan University as both a pitcher and first baseman. Jones was the head baseball coach at Kellam High School for over 24 years, during which he won multiple district titles and mentored over 60 players who went on to compete at the collegiate level, with some playing professionally. He is also a special education teacher at Kellam High School.

In January 2008, Jones was in a car accident that left him paralyzed from the waist down. Despite this challenge, he returned to coaching during the 2008 season, continuing from a wheelchair and attributing his resilience to his experience with special needs students and his positive mindset.
